Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Data Analyst to join the CoinDesk Data team. In this role, you’ll collaborate with our engineering team to refine data products and provide valuable insights to various departments across the wider Coindesk brand. You’ll be responsible for identifying data anomalies, creating quality metrics, and developing key performance indicators. We are looking for someone with a solid background in data analysis, strong Python skills, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively. Role & Responsibilities

  • Working alongside our engineering teams to analyse data products and feedback to wider stakeholders.
  • Support our Sales, Marketing and Research teams as a data expert.
  • Discovering and automating solutions for detecting anomalies and creating compressive QA metrics and KPI’s.
  • Working with product teams to define, develop and deliver metrics that can be used to quantify product success.
  • Building and presenting the ‘story of the data’ to relevant teams via dashboards or other more accessible methods
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Collaborate with internal product teams to design and deliver new data solutions.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of data analysis / data science experience, preferably working with financial data.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Advanced degrees (Master's or PhD) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with coding in Python for data analysis - proficient in libraries such as Pandas, Matplotlib, Numpy etc.
  • Experience working with Rest and Websocket API’s.
  • Ability to manipulate time series data and process large datasets.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts and insights to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
  • A self starter attitude and ability to identify the issues that you would like to work towards solving before coming up with a way of solving them.
  • Comfortable working in a distributed and dynamic organization where priorities can change frequently.

Extra Points

  • Experience working with SQL to query large and complex datasets.
  • Familiarity with the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and digital assets industries.
  • Have worked previously for start-up or SME.
