What Will You Do?

As a Data Analyst within the BTG Advisory team, you will play a critical role in analysing insolvency and restructuring data to support case management, performance tracking, and strategic decision-making. You'll work closely with finance business partners and case teams to extract insights from complex datasets, helping us to drive operational effectiveness and deliver value to our clients.

  • Analyse case data across the insolvency portfolio to identify trends, performance drivers, and process bottlenecks
  • Collect, clean, and interpret data from various sources
  • Analyse data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights
  • Monitor data quality and ensure data integrity
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership
  • Automate data collection and reporting processes where possible
  • Assist with the automation and improvement of internal reporting tools and data workflows
  • Help develop predictive insights around case outcomes, timelines, or key risk indicators
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across case management systems and finance platforms
  • Collaborate on ad hoc projects, including regulatory reporting, market trend analysis, and strategic initiatives

What Are We Looking For?

We’re looking for a commercially minded analyst who enjoys working with large and sometimes messy datasets, has an eye for detail, is inquisitive, and understands the nuances of professional services or insolvency work.

  • Experience working with financial or operational data (experience with insolvency data is a strong advantage)
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLookups, PivotTables, Index Match, etc.); experience with SQL, Power BI, or other BI tools is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data in context
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proactive attitude and willingness to improve processes and reporting quality

Why Join us?

  • Flexible working
  • Company pension
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • 23 days’ holiday + bank holidays (with the option to buy more)
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
  • Employee discount scheme (retailers, gyms, etc.)
  • Professional qualification support
  • Social events and strong team culture
  • Health & wellbeing programme
  • Paid volunteer time
  • 24/7 access to virtual GP & mental health support

You’ll join a team that thrives on curiosity, collaboration, and delivering real results in challenging environments. If you’re looking for a role where your analytical skills can directly influence client outcomes and business performance, we’d love to hear from you.
