Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for a Data Analyst to join our Finance Team, working from home. You will join us on full-time, permanent basis , and in return, you will receive a salary of £31,210 per annum.

About the Data Analyst role :

We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Analyst / Business Partner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, collecting, analysing, and interpreting a range of data to support evidence-based decision‑making across the charity. You will work closely with colleagues to develop dashboards, generate reports, and uncover insights. The charity wants to work in a more dynamic way in terms of real‑time data generation and consistency.

This role will be critical to us understanding the delivery of our strategy, services, and special projects. This role will work across the charity from marketing / communications, EDI, finance, to operational and governance teams. The role covers reporting of financial and non-financial data, with a key focus on impact reporting.

Hours

35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location

Homebased in the UK with occasional national travel

Job Requirements

What you'll bring as our Data Analyst :

Knowledge

Knowledge of Power BI reporting and the ability to create dashboards tailored to end‑user requirements.

Familiarity with ERP and CRM systems.

Understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR).

Knowledge of financial regulations and processes.

Skills

Proven experience in writing reporting dashboards in technologies such as Tableau, Looker, MetaBase or PowerBI.

Excellent Excel and analytical skills to provide detailed data analysis and trend insights.

Ability to understand data structures and perform effective data modelling.

Comfortable working independently to meet tight deadlines.

Experience delivering small group or 1 : 1 user training.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills with confidence in building relationships across teams.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Data Analyst or Reporting Analyst.

Proven background in data analysis or related fields, with strong proficiency in analytics tools and software.

Advanced experience in data analysis and trend identification.

Ability to deliver clear and documented results to end users.

Skilled in interpreting end‑user requirements into technical solutions and liaising with non‑technical users.

Experience working to deadlines and specific requests, delivering results on time.

Ability to work on own initiative, investigate data trends, and take ownership of actions.

Competent in presenting results in both technical and layman’s language.

Experience working with large datasets and databases.

Producing accurate, cross‑checked results and taking full responsibility for them.

Experience in implementing best practices for data management and reporting.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear, insightful dashboards and reports for different stakeholder groups
  • Experience working with multiple data sources and ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and governance across reports
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, metrics definition, and performance indicators to support decision‑making
  • Experience iterating and improving dashboards based on user feedback and changing business needs
  • Ability to present data in a clear, accessible way, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities

Power BI reporting and dashboard creation, ERP and CRM systems, data governance (e.g., GDPR), financial regulations and processes.

Power BI report writing, advanced Excel and analytical skills, data modelling, working independently to deadlines, user training, and stakeholder engagement.

Minimum 2 years as a Data or Reporting Analyst, strong proficiency in data analytics tools, trend analysis, translating end‑user requirements into technical solutions, working with large datasets, presenting results clearly, and implementing data / reporting best practices.
