Job summary

Onyx-Conseil in London is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support a major programme based in London. You will work with complex datasets to support analysis, reporting and data-driven decision-making, with a strong SQL capability and practical experience working with POLE data.

The role requires collaboration with data engineers, architects and business stakeholders to translate requirements into analytical outputs and to maintain data quality, mappings and documentation.

Job title: Data Analyst

Location: London - Hybrid

Contract: 6 months, with possibility of extension

Clearance: SC Cleared or eligible to obtain SC clearance

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Data Analyst to support a major programme based in London.

The successful candidate will work with complex datasets to support analysis, reporting and data-driven decision-making. The role requires strong SQL capability alongside practical experience working with POLE data.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights.
• Write, optimise and maintain complex SQL queries.
• Work with POLEv2 data structures and associated data models.
• Support data mapping, transformation and validation activities.
• Extract, cleanse and manipulate data from multiple sources.
• Investigate data quality issues and support remediation activities.
• Produce accurate analysis and reporting to support programme and business requirements.
• Work closely with technical teams, data engineers, architects and business stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into clear analytical outputs.
• Validate datasets and ensure data is complete, consistent and reliable.
• Support the development and maintenance of reporting and analytical solutions.
• Document data definitions, mappings, processes and analytical outputs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of data quality, reporting and analytical processes.

Essential Skills & Experience

Candidates should have strong commercial experience in:

• SQL - strong hands-on experience writing and analysing complex queries.
• POLEv2 - practical experience working with POLEv2 data, data structures or data mapping.
• Data analysis and interpretation.
• Data cleansing, validation and quality assurance.
• Working with large and complex datasets.
• Data mapping and transformation.
• Identifying and resolving data-quality issues.
• Producing clear analytical outputs and reports.
• Translating business requirements into data and reporting requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Working collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

• Data modelling.
• ETL or data transformation processes.
• Reporting and visualisation tools.
• Cloud-based data platforms.
• Python or other analytical programming languages.
• Working within large-scale enterprise or public-sector programmes.
• Experience handling sensitive or security-classified data environments.
