Job Description
Global Retailer requires a Junior Data & Insight Analyst to join an expanding team and be trained in various technical skills across multiple IT platforms, establishing a career in Data Analytics. You will work on Sales, Marketing, and Operational reports across international locations and support analytics enhancement using Power BI and other tools. The work arrangement is Monday-Thursday onsite in Avonmouth with Friday WFH; car travel is advised.
Key Responsibilities you will learn / be trained on:
- Collaborate with team members to deliver end-to-end reporting, including Specification, Design, Building, Testing, Rollout & Review, providing insights and solutions for stakeholders.
- Build a foundational understanding of the company's business processes, systems, and applications, and explore how these can be improved with better insights and reporting.
- Establish relationships with departments to understand their needs, and develop skills to communicate technical data effectively to various audiences.
- Develop technical skills in Excel, PowerBI, SQL, Azure Platform, SharePoint & ERP software, understanding how these systems work together to create insightful reports.
- Perform administrative tasks such as granting permissions, troubleshooting issues, note-taking during meetings, and other ad-hoc duties.
Key Skills / Requirements:
- Experience in Commercial or Financial roles (e.g., Pricing Analyst, Commercial Administrator, Trainee Accountant).
- OR experience in customer-facing or training roles with strong stakeholder relationship skills.
- OR 1+ years in a similar industry role.
- OR a degree in STEM, Business, Economics, or Accounting.
- Good IT literacy, especially in Excel, or skills in comparable software (e.g., Python, Power Automate, R-Studio).
- Understanding of SQL / Power BI / Power Query is a plus but not required.
The Successful Applicant
- Background in Commercial or Financial roles, or customer-facing/training roles with strong communication skills.
- 1+ years experience in a similar industry role or relevant educational background.
- Proficiency in Excel or comparable technical software.
- Knowledge of SQL / Power BI / Power Query is desirable.
