About us: At The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), we are dedicated to saving lives and preventing serious injuries. For over a century, we have been the driving force behind safety, from pioneering seatbelt laws to founding initiatives like The Tufty Club, Cycling Proficiency, and IOSH.

Our vision is simple: an Accident-Free World. We are a charity leading the safety agenda, shaping government policy, raising industry standards, and driving behavioral change across all areas of life—work, road, home, and leisure. Working alongside our members, we are committed to making accidents preventable and creating a safer society for everyone.

We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity at RoSPA for a Data Analyst to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. As we move towards a more data-centric approach, we seek a dynamic individual passionate about harnessing data to advance our mission.

This pivotal role involves analyzing data across RoSPA's systems, collaborating with all departments to design and build reports, visualizations, and dashboards to generate insights, identify trends, and support data-driven decision-making and strategies.

Your leadership will also guide our staff in adhering to best practices, governance, and regulatory standards. By fostering a culture of data integrity, you will empower stakeholders to rely confidently on our data systems, shaping strategies and helping us achieve our goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing data from various sources, including internal databases and external datasets, using techniques and tools to identify trends, patterns, and insights, and translating these into actionable recommendations.
  • Working with departments and stakeholders to understand and develop their data requirements.
  • Querying databases and maintaining business data systems, including data acquisition, mapping, cleansing, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Creating reports, dashboards, and visualizations using BI software to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Providing internal support, troubleshooting data/reporting issues, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Documenting and training staff on data reporting systems, explaining complex topics clearly to non-technical users.
  • Leading digital transformation initiatives, representing the department in meetings, resolving problems, writing process flows, overseeing project delivery, and managing User Acceptance Testing and training.

Candidate requirements:

  • A BSc in Data Analytics, Data Science, or equivalent.
  • Experience as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high accuracy and reliability.
  • Experience querying large datasets, SQL databases, and managing data in Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Dataverse.
  • Proficiency in Python and R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience with Power BI or Tableau for visualizations.
  • Awareness of machine learning algorithms and AI tools.
  • Knowledge of data cleansing and quality improvement.
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders through reports and presentations.

If you meet these requirements, we offer:

  • A supportive environment with training and professional development opportunities.
  • Salary sacrifice benefits including pension schemes, holiday purchase options, Bikes2Work, car leasing, and nursery schemes.
  • Wellbeing programs including a 24/7 GP line and a Cash Plan with discounts.
  • Hybrid working arrangements, 33 days of annual leave, and long service awards.
  • Engagement activities such as social events, staff days, and discounts.
  • Free parking and engaging staff experiences.

Join us and play a vital role in a life-changing mission—make a difference and grow your career with RoSPA!
