Job summary

C5 Alliance Group, part of BDO, is seeking a Data & AI Senior Consultant to join our Jersey-based practice. You will design, build and deliver modern data and AI solutions across Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and related services, focusing on hands-on delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities include developing data pipelines, semantic models and reporting using SQL, Python and Power BI, ensuring robust, scalable outputs and adherence to quality standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on delivery across Azure, Fabric and data platform services.
• Experience with SQL and Python for data pipelines and analytics.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and consulting skills.
• Microsoft certifications across Fabric/Azure/AI are welcome when delivering.

Description

C5 Alliance, part of BDO, runs a well-established and growing Data & AI practice across the Channel Islands and beyond, delivering modern data platforms and AI solutions for our clients. As demand grows, we are extending our network of experienced independent consultants to deliver alongside our team on a project basis. Our work spans the modern Microsoft data and AI stack: data platforms on Microsoft Fabric and Azure, analytics and reporting with Power BI, and applied Generative AI. We deliver end to end, from discovery and design through build and transition into support. We would be interested to hear from you if you offer a strong mix of any of the following:

• Data engineering on Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure - pipelines, lakehouse and warehouse, ETL/ELT, SQL and Python.
• Analytics and BI - Power BI, semantic modelling, governance and performance.
• Applied and Generative AI on Azure - retrieval-augmented generation, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search.
• Consulting skills to match - shaping requirements, engaging stakeholders, and delivering to a high standard.

Engagements are flexible and project-based, with remote and hybrid working options.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and enhance modern data engineering and AI solutions for clients, with a primary focus on hands on delivery across Azure, Microsoft Fabric and related Microsoft data platform services.
• Develop data pipelines, transformations, semantic models and reporting solutions using tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI and Fabric, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable and supportable.
• Contribute to the end to end delivery of customer solutions, from requirements and technical design through build, testing, deployment and handover, following agreed standards for quality, security and maintainability.
• Work closely with clients and internal colleagues to understand requirements, translate business needs into effective data and AI solutions, and communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly.
• Prepare and maintain clear technical documentation, design artefacts and delivery updates to support implementation, governance and transition into support.
