Job summary

Thoughtworks UKI is seeking a Director-level Market Lead to head our Data & AI practice in the UK & Ireland. This hybrid leadership role blends technical strategy with commercial leadership, shaping the opportunities, pricing and staffing of AI-first pods.

You will manage a core team and influence a broader matrix to deliver large-scale client outcomes. Strong C-level engagement and a track record in data/AI consulting are essential.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in data and AI consulting, typically 15+ years.
• History of selling large-scale data/AI deals and ability to discuss deal shape and ROI.
• Strong solutioning background in data platforms, governance and AI in production.
• Comfort negotiating with CFO-level stakeholders and managing P&L.
• Experience leading and scaling multi-hundred-person teams in a matrix setup.

Responsibilities

• Drive commercial success on complex Data & AI deals across UK&I from opportunity to signed contract.
• Frame business-outcome hypotheses and define lean delivery slices to prove value.
• Lead, mentor and scale the UKI Data & AI practice with a high-performing team.
• Manage executive relationships with CDOs, CIOs and other CXOs; advise on AI strategy and governance.
• Build robust sales pipelines and run strategic client workshops.
• Oversee staffing, capacity planning and reduction of bench time; drive production AI capability.
• Ensure responsible AI practices, governance, risk and regulatory alignment in UK and beyond.
