Job summary

Wearewild in London seeks a hands-on Data & AI Lead to steer our data stack and guide a growing team of analytics engineers and AI engineers. You will own tooling decisions, ensure safe AI usage, and align data with business goals across D2C and retail.

You will report to the Chief Finance & Operations Officer, drive data governance, and push the frontiers of AI adoption within the company, balancing speed with quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in a data role.
• Deep, hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt (good experience with GCP).
• Strong knowledge of data governance.
• Experience designing data architecture (choosing data tooling and managing contracts).
• Experience leading and developing a team, with a track record of delivering projects.
• Experience putting tests, evals and validations around data and AI to keep it safe and accurate.
• A commercial mindset, with a clear understanding of margin in a D2C and retail business.
• The ability to work at pace and juggle a lot at once.
• A genuine drive to be at the forefront of AI, and to bring the team with you.

Responsibilities

• Own our modern data stack and keep it reliable and cost-effective.
• Make tooling decisions end-to-end: select tools, manage contracts and vendors.
• Create validation and test frameworks to catch issues in the pipeline.
• Be the go-to person for data questions and maintain deep data knowledge.
• Keep up with stack features and adopt impactful ones.
• Drive our data and AI strategy and governance.
• Work with Finance on P&L and margin in a D2C/retail business.
• Lead and develop analytics engineers, AI/automation engineers, and offshore colleagues.
• Ensure project delivery with clear priorities and good judgement.
