Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an Assistant Manager in London, with hybrid working options across major UK cities. You will lead data and AI governance engagements, oversee fieldwork, and manage project financials under supervision, helping to build the practice and deliver assurance services to FTSE100 and international clients.

You will work with senior leaders to grow capabilities in data platforms, AI, and governance, while coaching junior colleagues and developing new propositions and methods

Qualifications

• Minimum professional qualification (CISA, AAIA, ACA, CA, ACCA, IIA, etc.) or working towards one with experience delivering audit and assurance engagements.
• Practical experience evaluating data governance and data management frameworks against regulatory/industry expectations (e.g. DAMA DMBOK, DCAM).

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day responsibility for delivering client engagements focused on data & AI, technology risk and assurance.
• Plan engagements, including risk assessments and audit programmes; lead planning on smaller/less complex assignments.
• Manage engagement financials, forecasts, WIP and invoices; provide updates to your Manager.
• Perform fieldwork with data analysis, testing, discovery, and maturity assessments; review Associates’ work.
• Apply growing data/AI assurance expertise to identify risks and shape practical recommendations.
• Present reports to client stakeholders; translate technical work into business-relevant conclusions.
• Provide on-the-job coaching to Associates and support their development.
• Develop internal/external networks and identify cross-service line opportunities.
