Job summary

McLaren Racing seeks a Data Acquisition Engineer to join the Development Team at the McLaren Technology Centre in the UK. You will plan, deliver and support instrumentation installations across high-performance vehicle programs and test rigs.

Responsibilities include coordinating instrumentation across multiple projects, leading design/installation of measurement systems, and enabling detailed data analysis and calibration for prototype and production vehicles.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in engineering or equivalent significant experience.
• Experience as instrumentation/test engineer in vehicle development with Ipetronik, Dewesoft and Vector Canalyzer.
• Experience in sensor specification, measurement techniques and ISO17025 calibration.
• Knowledge of analog electronics and electrical circuit design for motorsport wiring.
• Vehicle CAN/LIN networking and diagnostics; automotive Ethernet is a plus.
• Experience with inertial systems, wheel force transducers, strain gauging; familiarity with Arduino/Raspberry Pi/PLC/Python.
• Experience in vehicle data analysis and root-cause rectification.
• Ability to develop tests and measurement solutions for new technologies where no standard exists.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate vehicle instrumentation across projects and test assets.
• Lead design, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of measurement systems.
• Support testing of prototype and production vehicles in the UK and worldwide.
• Ensure instrumentation equipment meets calibration requirements with proper records.
• Maintain instrumentation records, backups, synchronization and software configurations.
