Job description

Daphne Jackson Fellowship opportunity funded by Lancaster University

Applications are invited for a three-year, part-time (0.5 FTE) Daphne Jackson Fellowship to be held at Lancaster University in the School of Engineering, within the Faculty of Science & Technology.

Lancaster University will host and partially fund this Fellowship, with the remaining funding secured by the Daphne Jackson Trust from an additional funder.

The Fellowship is aimed at individuals returning to research, aligned with themes such as:

  • Engineering design: Human Factors
  • Engineering design: Simulation (FEA/CFD)
  • Engineering design: Sustainability / net zero / decarbonising
  • Engineering analysis: Materials characterisation and testing
  • Renewable energy: Tidal / wave
  • Robotics and control
  • Nuclear engineering

Daphne Jackson Fellowships

These fellowships support individuals returning to research after a break of at least two years for family, caring, or health reasons. They help overcome challenges associated with returning to research, providing personalized retraining and mentorship to help fellows succeed and produce high-quality research.
