Job summary

A property services company is seeking an experienced Repairs and Maintenance Surveyor to join their team in Barnsley. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting housing stock and diagnosing issues related to damp and mould. You will produce technical reports, liaise with contractors and stakeholders, and ensure repairs align with legislative standards. Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Surveyor within repairs and maintenance or social housing.
• Strong knowledge of damp, mould, and disrepair legislation and best practices.
• Ability to diagnose building defects and recommend technical solutions.
• Confident communicator with report-writing skills.
• Proficient in IT systems (Excel, Outlook, databases, etc.).
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Carry out property inspections and surveys focused on damp and mould cases.
• Complete reports and documentation using an iPad provided.
• Liaise with contractors, residents, and internal teams to coordinate repairs.
• Ensure inspections meet targets aligned with regulations.
• Maintain accurate digital records of housing stock.
