Job summary

Places for People is hiring a Damp and Mould Operative to service properties across our community in the Canterbury area. You'll identify damp issues, apply treatments, and provide prevention advice to residents in line with health and safety standards.

You'll travel between properties in a company van, work a structured schedule, and join a dedicated team delivering secure, high-quality homes. This permanent role supports ongoing service delivery and local impact.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance or a relevant trade background.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Attending properties to identify and treat damp and mould issues.
• Assessing severity and applying appropriate treatment methods.
• Providing advice to Customers on prevention and maintenance.
• Working to specifications and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Collaborating with supervisors, schedulers and wider teams to meet deadlines.
• Recording work activity and completing required documentation.
• A structured schedule visiting multiple properties; travelling between jobs in the company van.
• Engaging directly with Customers in their homes and maintaining quality and compliance standards.

What you'll be doing

• Attending properties to identify and treat damp and mould issues


• Assessing severity and applying appropriate treatment methods


• Providing advice to Customers on prevention and maintenance

What your day looks like

• Engaging directly with Customers in their homes


• Completing work efficiently while maintaining quality and compliance standards

Where you'll work

You will be working across:

• Occupied homes


• Empty (void) properties


• A range of domestic properties within your local area


• Environments involving vulnerable Customers

Essential Criteria (you need to meet all of these to be shortlisted)

• Experience in property maintenance or a relevant trade background


• Full UK driving licence


• Due to the area this patch covers, you will need to be based within the advertised postcode

Nice to have (not essential)

• Experience in damp and mould treatment
