Qualifications

  • Qualified to 18th Edition electrician standard (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of lighting control systems, including DALI.
  • Proven experience in testing, commissioning, and fault finding.
  • Experience with IP network configuration.
  • Current ECS / CSCS Card (essential).
  • Ability to work on-site daily, carry equipment, and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

Overview

Established for almost 25 years, our client is a leader in lighting controls and smart building technology. They work with specifiers, installers and end-users and offer a full service - from pre-commissioning and CAD design through to project software and on-site commissioning. Their in-house experts then deliver every stage, ensuring quality, innovation and seamless integration.

Due to sustained period of growth they are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Commissioning Engineer to join their technical team. This is a field-based role where you will be responsible for commissioning, testing, and handing over lighting control systems, as well as providing ongoing support and aftercare.

You will play a key role in ensuring systems are installed, configured and maintained to the highest standards, working across a range of projects of varying technical complexity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commission, test and hand over of lighting control systems.
  • Provide client and colleague training on systems.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive troubleshooting.
  • Complete headend installations and configure IP networks (routers, gateways, user interfaces).
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation (site reports, snag reports, health checks, backups).
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are met, including maintaining up-to-date ECS/CSCS cards.
  • Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
Requirements
  • Qualified to 18th Edition electrician standard (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of lighting control systems, including DALI.
  • Proven experience in testing, commissioning, and fault finding.
  • Experience with IP network configuration.
  • Current ECS / CSCS Card (essential).
  • Ability to work on-site daily, carry equipment (up to 10kg), and stand for extended periods.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide clear technical advice to clients.
