Our Farm

We are an “in hand” home farming business operating on an estate in West Devon, bordering Dartmoor National Park. Our business comprises of 3 dairy units and 3 additional arable, beef and youngstock units, set across 800 hectares. Our cows are grass-based and treated with the highest standard of welfare. The arable and crop production supports our farm and livestock; however, we are keen to continue diversifying and reinvesting in our soils and crop plans. We have 11 staff members supporting our farm operation, and this position is a new and exciting role in our team.

Your role

· Leading a small team to work efficiently in a multisite business

· Liaising with Farm and Herd Managers to service the day-to-day needs of the livestock enterprises

· Maintenance, repair, and replacement of a small fleet of modern machinery

· Production of quality forage, crop nutrition and soil health

· Establishing crop plans

· Organising contractors for forage production and ensiling

· Implementing Health and Safety Policy and providing a safe working environment

· Overseeing the maintenance of farm infrastructure, including buildings, fences, and water supply.

· UK Driving Licence and UK Right to Work

· A Telehandler license is preferred

· Formal agricultural qualification e.g. Degree / Diploma, Facts, Basis

· Experienced in leading staff and contractors.

· Experienced in growing and managing a variety of forage crops

· Knowledge of Machinery and GPS systems

· PA1 and PA2 tickets preferred however, training can be provided

· Excellent communicator with high organisation and recording skills

· £35,000 - £45,000 per annum dependent on experience

· Accommodation available depending on your circumstances

· Farm Vehicle.
