Job Description:

This role is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week in Gloucestershire / Somerset / Worcestershire. The initial contract is for 6 months, outside IR35, and involves full-lifecycle infrastructure architecture work for a Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) deployment across multiple business units.

We are supporting a major business transformation and need a seasoned Infrastructure Architect to lead the end-to-end infrastructure workstream. This is not just a design role; it requires ownership across the entire architectural lifecycle, from discovery to cutover and transition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the infrastructure architecture lifecycle: discovery, requirements, high-level and low-level design, build oversight, testing, and transition.
• Create high-quality architecture documentation covering environments, networks, security, identity, and disaster recovery.
• Engage with business units, internal IT teams, and external vendors to define and validate infrastructure needs.
• Support governance, planning, and design assurance throughout delivery.
• Guide infrastructure teams during implementation to ensure alignment with the design.
• Contribute to testing and go-live readiness; support knowledge transfer to operational teams.
• Extensive experience as an Infrastructure Architect on large-scale D365 programs.
• Proven track record delivering architecture in multi-entity, complex environments.
• Broad technical knowledge: hybrid cloud, Azure AD, security, integrations, performance, scalability.
• Ability to work across multiple business units and with delivery partners.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills; confident in planning and governance discussions.
