Job summary

La Fosse is seeking an experienced Data Architect to define and lead the target data architecture for a CRM, data and analytics transformation programme. You will own architectural decisions across data models, master data, golden record and data migration, working with enterprise and delivery teams.

The role involves shaping data-platform architecture using Azure, Fabric and Lakehouse patterns, ensuring privacy (UK GDPR) and data quality across CRM and reporting platforms.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience as a Data Architect on complex, multi-system transformation programmes.
• Ownership of target data architecture across operational and analytical platforms.
• CRM data modelling, master data, identity resolution and significant data migration experience.
• Experience designing modern data and analytics platforms with governed data products.
• Knowledge of conceptual, logical and canonical data modelling, metadata, lineage and governance.
• Experience defining Golden Record, matching, survivorship and system-of-record patterns.
• Expertise in data migration architecture including mapping, transformation and rollback.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse data models.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure data services, Fabric and Lakehouse patterns.
• Understanding data quality, retention, access controls and UK GDPR requirements.
• Experience assuring supplier designs from a client-side architectural perspective.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to stakeholders.
• Experience facilitating architectural decisions in governance.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the target data architecture and transition roadmap across operational and analytical platforms.
• Define conceptual, logical and canonical data models, identifiers, master data and reference data standards.
• Lead architectural decisions on authoritative sources, system-of-record ownership and data replication.
• Define the architecture for a Golden Record and single customer view, including identity resolution and survivorship.
• Establish standards for data movement, integration patterns, data contracts, mappings and lineage.
• Shape data-platform architecture, including Azure data services, Fabric and Lakehouse/warehouse patterns.
• Define architecture principles for data quality, metadata, data cataloguing and stewardship.
• Lead data migration architecture including mapping, cleansing, deduplication, transformation and rollback.
• Maintain governance boundaries between operational integration and analytical reporting.
• Ensure data architecture supports CRM, preference management, volunteering or membership data and reporting.
• Collaborate with governance, security to embed privacy and UK GDPR by design.
• Provide design assurance across CRM, integration, migration and related workstreams.
• Define architecture-level requirements for monitoring, observability, and operational support of data flows.
• Maintain architecture documentation, decisions, risks, and technical debt.
• Present architectural options, recommendations and risks through formal governance.
• Collaborate with data engineers, migration specialists and business data owners to ensure designs are practical, sustainable and supportable.
