IRC223947 – D&IT SENIOR PYTHON DEVELOPER

At Eni, we are looking for a D&IT Senior Python Developer within ETB in London. You will work closely with ICT and business areas to define and deliver technical solutions for trading in crude oil, refined products, biofuels, and shipping, initially focusing on Front and Middle Office teams.

Starting January 1, 2021, Eni Trade & Biofuels SpA (ETB), wholly owned by Eni SpA, manages international trading of crude oil, petroleum products, bio-fuels, and derivatives, marketing Eni’s oil production, sourcing hydrocarbons, and managing logistics and risk services globally.

ETB operates in the UK, Italy, Singapore, and Houston, USA.

As a member of the ICT Team at ETB, you will be responsible for:

  • Interfacing with ICT Business Analysts, Business, and IT functions to define standards, design, develop, and support solutions.
  • Establishing best practices for Python technology landscape, architecture, and governance.
  • Developing a technology strategy, monitoring standards, and supporting testing and deployment.
  • Supporting business teams with guidance, not ownership of their code.
  • Building and managing a team of in-house developers.
  • Managing third-party support relationships.
  • Improving IT processes and technology based on feedback.
  • Challenging and improving existing processes and technology for better functionality and efficiency.
  • Designing and developing long-term, high-quality solutions, including documentation, testing, and support.
  • Maintaining the technical landscape and architecture for Python technologies.
  • Building relationships with technical teams and overseeing delivery quality.
  • Ensuring the use of appropriate technologies, staying updated with new tech.
  • Recruiting and developing the team, conducting interviews and assessments.

Requirements:

  • University degree in STEM or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a Python developer, including full-stack development and project delivery.
  • Skills in big data processing, ETL, SQL, Oracle, and MS Office integration.
  • Desirable skills: ML libraries, web frameworks (Flask, Django), text manipulation, data visualization.
  • Knowledge of other languages (Java, JS) and energy markets is a plus.
  • Understanding of trade lifecycle and market risk concepts is beneficial.
  • Experience in process and governance design, SDLC, documentation, team management, and mentoring.
  • Fluent in English; Italian is a plus.
