Qualifications

At Officeinsight, we specialise in workplace consultancy, office design, and fit-out services that help organisations thrive through inspired work environments. We're seeking a skilled and detail-driven Technical Designer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in turning innovative ideas into high-quality technical designs.

What You’ll Do:

  • Produce accurate and detailed CAD drawings for workplace interior projects, including technical detailing.
  • Conduct site surveys and accurately draw up existing site information for use in design and technical packages.
  • Collaborate with in-house designers to translate design intent into technical drawing sets.
  • Work with estimators to support cost planning with clear, accurate, and dimensionally correct drawings and construction drawing packages.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of our design processes and drawing templates.
  • Integrate consultant and subcontractor information into coordinated drawing packages.
  • Manage drawing revisions and version control throughout project stages.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, building standards, and best practices.
  • Assist the wider team with technical queries and drawing-based clarifications.
  • Support other project team members with ad hoc CAD-related tasks.
  • Prepare drawing schedules, registers, and issue logs for tender and construction use.
  • Create accurate as-built drawings towards the end of the project to reflect completed works.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar CAD Technician role, ideally within commercial interiors or office design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; ability to navigate SketchUp models is a plus.
  • Strong technical understanding of construction and fit-out processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for well-executed design.
  • Confidence in reading and interpreting consultant drawings (MEP, structural, etc.).
  • Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction methods.
  • Willingness to learn, collaborate, and travel to project sites when needed.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
