Job summary

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Band 6 CYPMHS Practitioner in Welwyn Garden City for a 12‑month fixed-term contract. The post involves assessing and treating children and young people with mental health needs within a multidisciplinary team.

You will deliver high-quality care, develop skills in assessment and treatment, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, safeguarding and best practices.

Qualifications

• Registered with the appropriate bodies and experience of working directly with service users.
• Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983 (2007).
• Experience of partnership working with service users and carers, demonstrating dignity and respect.
• Knowledge of safeguarding Children policy, practice and procedures.
• Ability to identify and manage changes to clinical risks.
• Knowledge of Child & Adolescent development.
• Knowledge of psycho-social approaches and/or willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of current legislation and guidance relevant to the post.

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a CYPMHS Practitioner in our East team, delivering a high-quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people and their families. We welcome both external and internal candidates for this 6 month contract.

We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated clinician who is willing to develop skills and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of children and young people; to deliver care, advice and support to children and young people with mental health problems.

You must be registered with the appropriate bodies and possess experience of working directly with service users. You will be responsible for demonstrating excellent clinical outcomes and safe and effective delivery of care to children and young people.

CYPMHS East is a caring, supportive and hard-working team which prides itself on working creatively, innovatively and inclusively. We have worked in partnership with young people to re design our clinic room spaces, working to better meet the needs of young people with neurodiversity who are accessing our service, and the development of the intervention offer for families of our young people.

Provide consultation, advice and training to professionals working within the community and within the multi-disciplinary team.

Contribute to the development of CYPMHS through clinic and professional meetings.

Qualifications
