The Trust was first established in 2002 and employs approximately 7,500 staff who provide care from more than 400 sites. The organisation offers opportunities for medics, mental health, general nurses, children’s nurses, allied health professionals, psychology, administration and clerical staff, apprentices and volunteers, as well as those specialising in learning disabilities and community physical health services.
We are looking for a Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, ideally with some recent experience working with children and young people with mental health difficulties or experience in working within Mental Health (please refer to person specification for more information). The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self‑motivation, have the ability to case manage and will display excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to establish good working relationships essential to the success of the service.
This role is for a qualified registered practitioner. The post holder will deliver profession specific mental health interventions, in accordance with an agreed care plan, to an identified group of children and families. The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs and contributing to the formulation of the child/young person and family’s needs and the development of a relevant plan based upon the child/young person and family’s negotiated goals and relevant evidence‑based interventions. The post holder, in conjunction with the multi‑disciplinary team, will provide mental health evidence‑based interventions to support the child/young person and family to meet their agreed goals. The post holder will coordinate and/or participate in the review of progress towards those goals, utilising agreed outcome measures, involving the child/young person and their family throughout their care.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team within Child and Young Peoples Mental Health Service (CYPMH). As part of the team you will take a role in delivering high‑quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well‑being of children and young people, their families and carers. Working within a systemic and holistic framework you will undertake needs‑led, evidence based, assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and young people, their families and carers, who present to the service. These assessments will also include young people needing support due to deliberate self‑harm. You will be supported by senior members of the team within this role.
