Job description

We are excited to be part of a national programme aimed at increasing mental health provision in Wirral schools. We are offering a vacancy for one Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) in Wave 13, starting September 2025.

Position Details
  1. The Wave 13 EMHP will be based in Wirral, covering local schools.
  2. Training will be at Prestwich University, part of Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust.
  3. Access to transport is essential.
  4. The vacancy may close early due to high application volume.
Training and Employment

Trainees will undertake a 12-month Post Graduate Diploma based on a national curriculum, with university attendance two days a week and in-service training three days a week, some of which may be remote.

This is a permanent contract contingent on successful course completion. Qualified practitioners will become Band 5 Educational Mental Health Practitioners.
