Job summary

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Children and Young People’s Mental Health Practitioner. The post requires experience in evidence based therapeutic interventions, clinical risk assessment, and a commitment to ongoing development.

You will work within the CYPMHS East Cheshire team, delivering assessment, therapy, family work and multi‑agency collaboration, with opportunities for training and professional growth across Cheshire and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Professional registration with a recognised National Body (HCPC, NMC, Social Work England)
• Experience with children and young people in clinical mental health settings
• Therapeutic training in CBT/DBT/EMDR or systemic therapies
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Commitment to ethical practice and continuous learning

Responsibilities

• Improve pathways for children and young people’s mental health services.
• Undertake mental health assessments and provide interventions & formulations.
• Work with children and young people with varying levels of clinical risk.
• Handle high-pressure, fast-paced environments while maintaining quality.
• Adapt and be flexible to the role’s demands.
• Travel to multiple venues as part of the working day.
