This role presents a unique opportunity to be part of a community-driven initiative. Following a triumphant pilot year, our project has garnered a commendable reputation, delivering significant positive outcomes in the community. As we embark on our expansion phase, we remain committed to improving accessibility for the local populace. Young people aged 13 and above have the convenience of self-referring either through our online QR code system or by directly visiting the centre. In this role, you'll also collaborate closely with General Practitioners and a multidisciplinary team within CAMHS and clinicians offering support to young adults (up to age 25), ensuring a holistic approach to community care.

Main duties of the job

You will collaborate with CAMHS services and liaise with other entities, including local authorities and the voluntary sector, to deliver impactful interventions. As the post holder, you'll uphold CYP-IAPT care principles and ensure that the care provided aligns with evidence-based interventions. The post holder will be assessing and treating children with mental health difficulties presenting within CWP team and Mulberry Hub contexts.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • In particular the post holder will use evidence-based intervention and apply the specialist input in their clinical therapeutic work.
  • You will carry out risk assessments on children & young people in your care routinely and work under the supervision of the team manager and senior clinicians to manage these situations effectively.
  • You will work with other CAMHS practitioners in the service from all disciplines, GPs colleagues from the voluntary sector and other external agencies.
  • You will work as part of the clinic between the hours of 3pm-7pm. Outside these hours there is some scope for hybrid working.
  • Within the CWP Service the post holder will be responsible for supporting Children Wellbeing Practitioners, trainees as well as playing an important role in managing the delivery of the following purview of the CWP Service: Supporting Children Wellbeing Practitioners to deliver evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health difficulties by using the manual-based intervention. It includes supporting the service lead in supporting CWPs' clinical work, ensuring the quality of care and safeguarding risks.You will play an important role to bridge with other internal and external colleagues from other services, working in a multidisciplinary team in a diverse community and assisting CWP Services to develop better services in response the need in the community. It includes participating in group intervention, collecting data to monitor clinical performance.You will require you to be based in the Mulberry Hub (GP Youth Clinic) and Lewisham CAMHS (78 Lewisham Park). You will need to adapt your working pattern to meet the demand
  • Within the GP Youth Clinic, you will be bridging the gap between Primary Care and CAMHS as well as promoting partnership working and
  • You will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

Experience

  • • Assessed supervised clinical experience working with children and adolescents with mental health problems/needs or clear evidence of transferable skills.
  • • Working in collaboration with supervisor, service user, carers and MDT in assessing needs, planning and implementing care.

Qualifications

  • • Qualification in Pg Dip CYP IAPT either CBT or IPT-A or CBT formal training
  • • Bachelor’s degree (or conversion course) from a UK University or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a relevant subject (Nurse, Social work, OT etc) or PG diploma in CWP or EMHP
