Job summary

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is seeking motivated CYP Advocate Intervention Instructors to support our Prevention team on a casual, ad-hoc basis. You will help deliver Fire Cadets, Phoenix, and other youth intervention activities to develop confidence, life skills and community awareness.

Roles are based at Bovey Tracey or Wincanton Station. You will work with colleagues, partner agencies and community organisations to provide high-quality educational programmes for children and young

Qualifications

• Experience delivering youth programmes such as Fire Cadets or similar.
• Knowledge of safeguarding policies and reporting.
• Able to maintain accurate records and admin tasks.
• Enhanced DBS Check is a requirement of this role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver youth programmes in line with Service priorities and contribute to safer communities.
• Supervise participants during practical drills and activities.
• Promote a positive, professional image of the Fire and Rescue Service.
• Encourage young people’s confidence, self-esteem and personal development.
• Safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults in line with Service policies.
• Maintain accurate records and complete associated administration.
• Attend relevant training and team meetings.
• Work with partner agencies and community organisations.
• Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, health and safety.
