The YOU Trust in Horsham is seeking a part-time Children and Young People’s Violence Advocate (CYPVA) to engage CYP at risk of harm due to domestic abuse. The role includes conducting assessments, designing one-to-one sessions, and coordinating with safeguarding and education providers to deliver a joined-up response.

You will collaborate with schools and other agencies to raise awareness, develop safety plans, and deliver effective interventions for young people aged 16+ in certain cases.

Qualifications

• The role focuses on engaging children and young people at risk of harm due to domestic abuse.
• Proactive assessment and safety planning with CYP and other agencies.

Responsabilités

• Co-produce full risk assessments with CYP and reflect needs in safety and support plans.
• Hold a caseload of CYP and manage diary to meet individual needs.
• Advocate for CYP to help develop their voice and self-resilience.
• Collaborate with parents, children and professionals to identify CYP experiencing domestic abuse.
• Carry out joint assessments and co-produce individual support plans.
• Complete DASH RIC for young people and refer to MARAC (16+).
• Deliver groups in local schools on healthy relationships and teen violence.
• Develop care pathways with agencies and forums.
• Co-produce programmes with CYP.
• Work with safeguarding to identify and support at-risk children.
• Engage with education providers to develop placement protocols.
