Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd is recruiting an Experienced Cylindrical Grinder for its Warwick facility. You will produce high-precision components using CNC and manual grinding equipment, ensuring compliance with aerospace specifications.

The role involves setting up and operating Jones & Shipman machines, reading engineering drawings, and performing in-process and final inspections to meet demanding tolerances.

Qualifications

• Experience operating cylindrical grinding machines.
• Experience with Jones & Shipman CNC cylindrical grinders (Easy control or CNC).
• Experience operating manual cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of precision measurement, tolerances and quality.

Salary: £41,000 per annum

The Company

Our client is a leading precision engineering manufacturer supplying high-specification components into the aerospace industry. They are looking to recruit an experienced Grinder to join their skilled manufacturing team at their Warwick facility.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist aerospace manufacturer producing precision components to exacting quality standards, working with a range of CNC and manual grinding machines.

The Role

As an Experienced Grinder, you will be responsible for producing high-precision components using CNC cylindrical grinding machines, as well as manual cylindrical and surface grinding equipment.

You will play a key role in ensuring components meet strict engineering specifications and quality requirements within a demanding aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting and operating Jones & Shipman CNC cylindrical grinding machines, including Easy control and full CNC systems.
• Operating manual cylindrical grinding machines.
• Operating manual surface grinding machines.
• Manufacturing precision components to detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ensuring components meet tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Using precision measuring equipment to inspect finished components.
• Carrying out in-process and final inspections.
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping and adhering to all Health & Safety procedures.
• Working closely with the wider manufacturing team to meet production targets and delivery deadlines.

The Candidate

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Previous experience operating cylindrical grinding machines.
• Experience with Jones & Shipman CNC cylindrical grinders, including Easy control and/or full CNC systems.
• Experience operating manual cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of precision measurement, tolerances and quality requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality components.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled engineering team.
