  • Drive improvements in the reliability and frequency of data ingestion, including increased real‑time coverage.
  • Support and enhance data ingestion infrastructure and pipelines.
  • Design and implement data pipelines that collect data from disparate enterprise and external sources and deliver it to the data platform.
  • Develop ETL workflows using advanced data manipulation tools and programmatic data processing techniques.
  • Ensure data remains available at each stage of the data flow and is delivered in the required format for each system, service, and customer.
  • Identify and onboard data sources using existing schemas and conduct exploratory data analysis where required to determine new schemas.
  • Automate, productionise, and optimise data engineering pipelines.
  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows across disparate datasets.
  • Implement cloud-based data acquisition, data transport, and data cleaning processes.
  • Curate datasets and data assets while supporting data modelling and cataloguing.
  • Design and maintain database architecture and data integration solutions.
  • Develop data warehousing and real-time analytics capabilities for large-scale datasets.
  • Apply data engineering methods and technologies to cybersecurity use cases.
  • Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to large-scale cloud infrastructure and platform operations.
  • Develop scripts and applications using PowerShell, Terraform, Python, Windows command prompt, and object‑oriented programming languages.
  • Query data using SQL and Kusto Query Language.
  • Manage software version control and CI/CD processes using tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps.
  • Administer and script Linux environments, preferably RedHat systems.
  • Support cloud infrastructure across identity, networking, compute, storage, web, containers, and database services.
  • Implement Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automation using Terraform, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
  • Work with streaming platforms such as Azure Event Hubs or Kafka and stream processing technologies such as Spark Streaming.
  • Support cloud cost optimisation and platform efficiency initiatives.
  • Contribute to platform operations, production support, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with Principal Engineers and wider technology teams to deliver data engineering and platform capabilities.
  • Support the development of the Cybersecurity Science & Analytics Team and contribute to sustainable technical decisions.
  • Build strong relationships across business areas and international teams, encouraging collaboration, debate, and open discussion.
  • Participate in programme boards, daily and weekly management reporting, and governance meetings.
Qualifications
  • Bring strong hands‑on experience in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, platform operations, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrate experience with SRE principles, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, software version control, and cloud‑based data pipelines.
