Role Description

BAE Systems manages a dedicated Security Operations Centre (SOC) supporting a major UK Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) organization. The networks are primarily cloud-hosted, with numerous systems requiring protection. We aim to develop this SOC as a benchmark of excellence against significant threats. This role requires a minimum of DV clearance and reports to the Service Delivery Manager.

The Role

1. Ensure detection, triage, and reporting of potential cyber threats and vulnerabilities daily.
2. Deliver threat intelligence and vulnerability reports efficiently and on time.
3. Set achievable deadlines for reports without established schedules and fairly assign tasks.
4. Identify key threat actors posing the greatest risk to the client.
5. Develop and review Priority Intelligence Requirements (PIRs) and collection plans to ensure relevance.
6. Maintain high standards for all threat intelligence and vulnerability reports.
7. Document and review processes regularly.
8. Provide analysis, context, and predictions in deliverables.
9. Assess and improve the maturity of client functions, delivering enhancements.
10. Oversee the personal development of the Threat Intelligence and Vulnerability team.
11. Ensure completion and quality of products during reduced capacity periods.

Requirements

Technical

• 5+ years’ experience in threat intelligence, vulnerability management, or cyber threat research.
• Experience in incident response and management.
• Expertise in current and emerging threats to government and CNI.
• Strong open-source research skills.
• High proficiency with Windows and Linux OS and command line tools.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and cloud platforms.

Non-Technical

• Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Team player with experience working in diverse teams.
• Self-motivated leader with line management experience.
