DSIT's Government Cyber Unit seeks a Cyber Technology Risk Lead (Effectiveness & Engagement) to drive consistent risk management across central government. You will lead structured engagement with departments, assess control effectiveness, and promote practical adoption of risk frameworks to strengthen national digital resilience.

Join a UK-wide team with hubs in Manchester, London and Bristol, tackling legacy IT, supply chain risks, post-quantum cryptography and AI adoption.

Qualifications

• Experience gathering evidence and forming independent, defensible judgements on risk and controls in organisations you do not directly control.
• Experience designing proportionate evidence and reporting approaches using data and insights from diverse sources.
• Strong understanding of risk appetite, assessment, treatment, governance, and planning.

Responsibilities

• Design and run a structured, repeatable engagement programme with departments, focusing on where risk is greatest.
• Form evidence on whether technology risk controls across government are working and report honestly if gaps exist.
• Drive adoption of the Technology Risk Framework and risk appetite in departments.
