Job summary

ScottishPower, part of the Iberdrola Group, seeks a Cyber Security Vulnerability Lead in Glasgow to drive cyber resilience across IT and OT systems. You will lead vulnerability management, testing and Red Team activities, shaping strategic initiatives and working with senior stakeholders to deliver an integrated security program.

Successful candidates will have extensive security operations experience, OT knowledge, and certifications such as CISSP/CISM.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in security operations within a large, complex organisation.
  • Experience leading security improvement programmes and managing critical vulnerabilities.
  • Understanding of OT security environments and regulatory/security challenges for critical infrastructure.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GICSP or OSCP are advantageous and demonstrate IT/OT security expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead vulnerability management, security testing and cyber resilience initiatives across IT and OT systems.
  • Coordinate vulnerability identification services, including penetration testing and Red Team activities.
  • Define strategic security initiatives, influence long‑term roadmaps and maximise value from existing investments.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders, security teams, service providers and business leaders to deliver integrated security strategy.
  • Provide expert guidance on tools, processes and operating models for the Cyber Fusion Centre’s evolution in the UK.

Cyber Security Vulnerability Lead

Location: Glasgow

Salary: From £59,000+ (up to 15% bonus & private healthcare)

Hybrid working (2-3 days per week) Permanent

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will need to be able to obtain NSV SC clearance - You will need to have lived continuously in the United Kingdom for a period of 5 years before being eligible to meet the Minimum Residency Criteria

What you’ll be doing
  • This is an opportunity to work at the heart of a complex and critical security environment, supporting both IT and Operational Technology (OT) systems across the business.
  • You’ll work closely with the Global Cyber Fusion Centre and teams across ScottishPower to drive vulnerability management, security testing, and cyber resilience initiatives.
  • In this role, you’ll lead the coordination of vulnerability identification services, including penetration testing and Red Team activities.
  • You’ll help shape the future of cyber security across the organisation by defining strategic security initiatives, influencing long‑term roadmaps, and ensuring security services deliver maximum value from existing investments.
  • Collaboration will be central to your success.
  • You’ll build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, security teams, service providers, and business leaders to deliver an integrated IT and OT security strategy.
  • You’ll also provide expert guidance on the tools, processes, and operating models that support the Cyber Fusion Centre's continued evolution in the UK.
What you’ll bring
  • We’re looking for an experienced cyber security professional with a strong background in security operations within a large, complex organisation.
  • You’ll be comfortable leading security improvement programmes, managing critical vulnerabilities, and working with a range of security tools and services.
  • Experience working with OT security environments is beneficial, alongside an understanding of the regulatory and security challenges facing critical infrastructure organisations.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GICSP or OSCP would be advantageous and will help demonstrate your expertise across both IT and OT security disciplines.
  • Due to the nature of this position, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain NSV SC Clearance.
  • Applicants must have lived continuously in the UK for at least five years to meet the minimum residency requirements.
