Johnson Matthey Plc in London or Royston, UK, is offering a Cyber Security Summer 2027 Intern position in a hybrid setup. You’ll help drive security analytics, investigations and phishing response while learning from a world leader in platinum group metals.

The role covers endpoints, cloud and network security, with opportunities to contribute to tooling deployments and vulnerability management as part of a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Currently studying for a degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering or Digital Forensics.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Ability to investigate issues and identify root causes.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a foundation in cyber security principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytics on SOC incidents and security data to identify trends and support management reports.
• Assist with in-depth investigations across endpoints, identity, cloud, and network environments.
• Triage and respond to user-reported phishing emails.
• Help respond to user queries about cyber security best practices or concerns.
• Identify and lead new areas for improvement within SOC ways of working.
• Support the engineering team in deployment of new tooling.
• Support the vulnerability management team in prioritising and responding to vulnerabilities.

The role:

As a Cyber Security Intern, you will help drive our goals by:

• Perform analytics on SOC incidents and other security data, identifying common trends for tuning and supporting the delivery of management reports.
• Assist with in-depth investigations across endpoints, identity, cloud, and network environments.
• Triage and respond to user reported phishing emails.
• Help respond to user queries about cyber security best practice or cyber security concerns.
