Job summary

BT Group is seeking a Software Engineer to join our security-focused engineering teams across the UK. You will contribute to building cloud-native applications, backend services, and tooling that protect critical systems while delivering real-world impact.

We value curiosity, collaborative learning, and the ability to work across multiple software domains. Applicants should meet core software development skills and be eligible for UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.

Qualifications

Software development, programming or scripting experience.
Software testing and DevOps experience.
Experience with Jira and Confluence.
Source code management using Git-based platforms (GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket).
Experience in Agile software development teams.
Experience with test and infrastructure automation frameworks.

Responsibilities

Develop resilient, well-tested code across front-end, back-end and security-focused components.
Contribute to design and code reviews to ensure quality standards.
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into software solutions.
Build and maintain cloud-native services and automation tooling.
Improve monitoring, logging and incident response capabilities.
