Job description

Cyber Security Project Manager – Global Investment Bank

Contract: 6 months

IR35: Inside IR35

We’re supporting a leading global investment bank in the search for an experienced Cyber Security Project Manager / Technical Delivery Manager to join its cybersecurity delivery function in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a delivery-focused project manager who enjoys working on complex technical programmes, taking ownership and driving meaningful change across a large enterprise environment. We're keen to speak with Cyber Security Project Managers and Technical Delivery Managers who can combine strong delivery fundamentals with the technical understanding needed to manage complex security initiatives.

You’ll be responsible for delivering a range of high-priority cybersecurity initiatives, working closely with senior stakeholders across Information Security, Infrastructure and Technology. The portfolio spans multiple security domains, offering the opportunity to work across critical remediation, security control improvements and wider technology transformation.

This isn't a role for someone who simply manages status reports. We're looking for someone who can get into the detail, manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity and proactively drive projects through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take end-to-end ownership of cybersecurity projects, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, timelines, budgets and objectives.
  • Manage multiple workstreams, dependencies, risks and issues across a complex technology environment.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across Information Security, Infrastructure, Technology and business teams.
  • Translate security requirements and regulatory obligations into clear, actionable delivery plans.
  • Drive remediation initiatives, security control enhancements and cybersecurity technology improvements.
  • Maintain delivery plans, project governance, RAID logs and stakeholder reporting.
  • Identify and resolve delivery blockers, escalating risks and making informed decisions where needed.
  • Coordinate internal teams, suppliers and third parties to maintain delivery momentum.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a Cyber Security Project Manager, Technical Delivery Manager or similar within a technology or information security function.
  • A strong track record of delivering complex cybersecurity or technical programmes end to end.
  • Good technical understanding of cybersecurity technologies, enterprise IT infrastructure and security controls.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and workstreams with competing priorities and complex dependencies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage and influence senior technology and security leaders.
  • Ability to operate autonomously, work through ambiguity and take accountability for delivery.
  • Experience within financial services, investment banking or another highly regulated environment.
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Highly Desirable

Experience delivering initiatives across one or more of the following areas:

  • Identity & Access Management: CyberArk, IAM and Active Directory.
  • Network & Firewall Security: Firewall rule remediation, security governance, Zero Trust and network segmentation.
  • Data Protection: Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Email DLP, Web DLP and DSPM.
  • Vulnerability Management: Security remediation, risk assessment and assurance.
  • Cloud Security: Security compliance, control implementation and remediation.
  • Technology Lifecycle: Cybersecurity End-of-Life / End-of-Support (EoL/EoS) programmes.
  • Security Governance: Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS.
  • Emerging Security Technologies: AI security governance, security automation and cybersecurity tooling.
  • You don't necessarily need to cover every area, but a broad cybersecurity understanding combined with hands-on delivery experience will be key.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Join a major global investment banking environment.
  • Take ownership of business-critical cybersecurity initiatives with real delivery impact.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across Technology, Infrastructure and Information Security.
  • Gain exposure to a broad portfolio of security technologies, remediation programmes and transformation initiatives.
  • Apply both your project management expertise and technical cybersecurity knowledge.
  • Secure a competitive contract rate of £500–£650 per day, Inside IR35.
