Job description

Cyber Security Project Manager

Utilities

Location: Predominantly remote (1-2 days per month in Warwick)

Duration: 6 months

Rate: £600 per day

Purpose:
  • The Project Manager is responsible for leading and supporting the project team to achieve successful outcomes within time, cost, and quality criteria.
  • Ensure adherence to all Cyber standards and procedures as determined by the Steering Committee and Programme Board.
  • Coordinate with internal design stakeholders for the delivery of innovative technology to reduce cyber risk.
Key accountabilities:
  • Maintain documentation to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with IT and Security teams to deliver relevant components and adhere to processes.
  • Ensure the project team understands the delivery process within the Cyber Programme.
  • Work with the Programme Management Team to define project direction and integrity.
  • Provide leadership, support, and development opportunities for the project team.
  • Communicate project objectives and scope clearly to all stakeholders.
  • Estimate, monitor, and control project tasks, costs, and timelines, managing deviations appropriately.
  • Manage change control procedures and ensure formal approvals for scope changes.
  • Oversee the production of project deliverables and review processes.
  • Maintain project, stage, exception, and quality plans, providing regular reports to the Programme Board.
  • Identify and manage risks, assumptions, issues, and decisions (RAID), developing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure proper project closure, documentation, and lessons learned.
Knowledge and experience:
  • Extensive knowledge of Cyber technology.
  • Proven leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Track record of delivering complex projects.
  • Experience with Breach Attack Scenarios and Post Quantum Cryptography (preferred).
  • Experience managing third-party vendors, including Hardening Implementation Strategy and Network Architecture.
