Assistant Manager – Security Operations Centre (SOC) – IGH

The Security Operations Centre - Assistant Manager role will provide a pivotal function of planning, designing, building, and sustaining SOC and Next-Generation SOC services, operating within the uppermost levels of Government. You will work as part of an elite team of specialists, advising government and industry clients on their most complex and high-profile strategic issues.

We seek an Assistant Manager with strong consulting skills and a proven record of delivering results in complex Security Operations projects, supporting KPMG’s expansion in this market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Security Operations projects or workstreams within larger programs, collaborating with Partners, Directors, and Senior Managers.
  • Plan and oversee delivery, including work plans, timelines, project management, and resource allocation.
  • Provide insights on security operations capabilities and services.
  • Build and maintain client relationships daily.
  • Contribute to the development of propositions and assets, bringing a National Security perspective.

Essential Requirements:

  • Technical background with experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC).
  • Knowledge of SOC tools and technologies, such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms.
  • Experience assessing maturity, managing SOC services, and implementing improvements.
  • Ability to integrate technology insights into client solutions and address broad security issues.
  • Proven success in supporting the development and implementation of security operating models.

Applicants must hold SC Clearance.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Team management and project structuring skills.
  • Track record of achievement in consulting or industry roles.
  • Degree in Information Security, IT, or relevant STEM fields.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications.
  • Experience in 'Big 4' consultancy or mid-tier firms.

This role is primarily based in Southwest England, with weekly site visits required within the area.
