Job description
Job Title: Cyber Security Lead

Job Location: Brindley Place

Salary: £52,000-£58,000

Contract type: Permanent

Working hours: 37

About the role

As our Cyber Security Lead, you will play a vital role in protecting the organisation's data and digital assets from cyber threats. You will shape and deliver our cyber security strategy, lead key security initiatives, and champion a culture of security awareness across the organisation.

In this strategic role, you will advise senior leaders and the Board on security matters, track and report on our cyber security program's progress, and ensure we meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. From identifying and mitigating risks to responding to security incidents, you will be at the forefront of keeping our digital environment safe and secure.

About you

You are a strategic thinker with hands-on expertise in cyber security, passionate about protecting data and systems while enabling innovation and business growth. You bring deep knowledge of information security frameworks and standards, such as ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials, and have a solid track record in managing risk, compliance, and incident response in complex digital environments.

You are confident working with senior stakeholders, translating technical risks into business language, and guiding decision-making at executive and board levels. You are equally comfortable in the detail, whether it’s reviewing access controls, leading security assessments, or shaping security policies.

With experience leading cyber awareness initiatives, you are a strong communicator and a natural mentor, empowering teams, closing skills gaps, and championing a culture of security across the organisation.

Your ability to work collaboratively, influence effectively, and stay ahead of emerging threats will help us stay secure and resilient. Most importantly, you align with the GSA Way: customer-focused, collaborative, caring, and driven by purpose and ambition.

About us

We are GSA, providing affordable homes and services that create a foundation from which people in our communities can thrive.

We own and manage 25,000 homes in diverse communities across the West Midlands and Southwest. Everyone deserves a home; it’s a place from which we build our future, and we thrive at home.

We are proud to play an active role in dealing with the consequences of the housing crisis by providing affordable homes for people in our communities who need them most.

Often a home is all someone needs, but when our customers need more, we offer a range of services, including care, money advice, and coaching to support them. We also provide care and support to some of the most vulnerable people in society, including support for people who are homeless, experiencing domestic violence, or part of the criminal justice system.

The GSA Way

We know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. To help us make a difference, together, we created the GSA Way: a culture we commit to, aspire to, and live and breathe. Our five core commitments are:

  • We believe our customer is everything
  • We are one team
  • We are supportive and caring
  • We are business-minded for social purpose
  • We are curious and ambitious.

Benefits

In support and recognition of our colleagues who will help us deliver our employer strategy, we offer a fantastic benefits package. This includes:

  • 25 days annual holiday entitlement
  • A defined contribution pension scheme
  • Trust-based flexible working and a Confidential Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Two days paid volunteering leave per year
  • Buying and selling of annual leave
  • Opt-in health cash plan with cover on eye tests and glasses, dental, therapy, and much more!
