Job summary

Redgate is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer at our Cambridge site. The role spans design, build, and operation of security controls across infrastructure and applications, with close collaboration to engineers and business teams to enable secure delivery.

You’ll handle hands‑on investigations, fearlessly addressing vulnerabilities and contributing to secure software delivery in a hybrid work model (home and Cambridge office) with a strong emphasis on practical risk management and

Qualifications

• Hands‑on security engineering or security operations experience.
• Strong IAM knowledge at protocol level (OAuth 2.0, SAML, OIDC).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation.
• Familiarity with secure SDLC practices, version control, and peer review.
• Experience conducting vendor security reviews and third‑party risk assessments.
• Practical vulnerability management experience – judging real‑world risks.
• Incident response experience, including investigation and remediation.
• Background in sys admin or engineering.
• Security exists to enable the business.
• Comfort using AI tools in daily work.
• Strong communication with both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate security controls across infrastructure and applications.
• Investigate issues hands‑on, sometimes outside office hours, when things genuinely matter.
• Work closely with engineers and business teams to enable secure delivery.
• Work alongside our commercial teams to give our customers the confidence to securely deploy our products.
