Cyber Security Engineer (983)

Rate: £31.86 per hour

Working Pattern: 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH (may vary depending on workload)

We are recruiting a Cyber Security Engineer for a long-term contract role with a globally recognized automotive company based in Cranfield. The contract may run for several years.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a deep understanding of Nissan's Connected Car features and use this knowledge to:
• Coordinate and align schedules with stakeholders to ensure compliance with UN-R155
• Present progress reports on Cybersecurity topics at management and vehicle milestone meetings
• Assess future capabilities and coordinate team expansion as needed
• Communicate and coordinate with Legal and Compliance teams
• Gather and communicate cybersecurity information from suppliers
• Resolve cybersecurity-related issues
• Request cybersecurity requirements during system development
• Stay updated on trends in iOS, Android, and Cloud security and their impact
• Establish cybersecurity implementation processes
• Manage cybersecurity implementation plans, status updates, meeting minutes, and CSMS certification

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience in developing or maintaining IT systems
• Project management skills and ability to collaborate with cybersecurity engineers
• Experience negotiating with certification authorities
• Knowledge of UN-R155 and ISO21434 standards
• Project management certifications (PMP or Prince2) are a plus
• Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP or equivalent) are a plus
• Degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering or Computer Science)
• Understanding of Agile and Waterfall development methodologies
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to prioritize and multitask across multiple projects
• Self-motivated, proactive, and flexible in working practices and hours
• Willingness to travel abroad, sometimes on short notice
• Fluent in written and verbal English; business-level Japanese is a plus
