Job summary

Found Talent partners with an established technology organisation to strengthen its Cyber Security team, taking ownership of security tooling, controls, integrations and automation within a Microsoft and Azure environment.

You will engineer and maintain security controls across Defender, Sentinel, Entra and Purview, develop detection capabilities and drive continuous improvement while aligning with modern security practices and AI security considerations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Cyber Security Engineer with focus on Microsoft security tooling and Azure.
• Experience building detection capabilities and security automation.
• Ability to own security engineering initiatives and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, configure, and maintain security controls across Defender, Sentinel, Entra, Purview, and Azure.
• Develop and improve security monitoring, telemetry, detection rules and alerts.
• Build security automation, integrations, and response workflows.
• Review existing tooling, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with tech teams to implement secure delivery processes.
• Contribute to AI security capabilities, including AI agent controls and automation.

Are you a hands–on Cyber Security Engineer with strong experience across the Microsoft security stack, looking to take ownership of security engineering and drive improvements across a modern technology environment?

Found Talent is working with an established technology organisation going through an exciting period of development, looking to strengthen its Cyber Security team with an experienced Microsoft Security Engineer.

This is a technically focused role, centred around engineering and improving security tooling, controls, integrations and automation across a Microsoft and Azure environment.

What you'll be doing

• Engineering, configuring and maintaining security controls across Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra, Purview and Azure.
• Developing and improving security monitoring, telemetry, detection rules and alerting capabilities.
• Building security automation, integrations and response workflows.
• Reviewing existing security tooling, identifying gaps and driving continuous improvement.
• Working with technology teams to implement modern security practices and integrate security controls into delivery processes.
• Contributing to the development of AI security capabilities, including controls and monitoring for AI agents and automated workflows.

What experience you need

• Strong hands–on experience in a Cyber Security Engineering or Microsoft Security Engineering role.
• Practical experience across Microsoft security technologies, particularly Defender, Sentinel, Entra and Azure.
• Experience engineering security controls, developing detection capabilities and improving security tooling.
• Knowledge of security automation, integrations, scripting and response workflows.
• Understanding of cloud security and modern security practices.
• The ability to take ownership, prioritise effectively and work independently in a fast–moving environment.

Experience with Microsoft Purview, Security Copilot and emerging AI security capabilities would be advantageous. Relevant Microsoft security certifications are also welcomed.
