Ekco is seeking a Cyber Security Consultant to join our security-first MSP team in the UK. You will help organisations improve their security posture and drive Cyber Essentials certifications, while growing your cyber security skillset with training and certifications.

The role offers mentorship, a path to certifications, and exposure to a range of security engagements as part of a small, ambitious team.

Competenze

• 3+ years of general IT or cyber security experience.
• Strong passion for cyber security and willingness to learn.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid understanding of networking and OSI model.
• Proficiency with modern Microsoft Windows operating systems.

Mansioni

• Deliver Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus assessments for clients.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and security reviews of workstations/servers and MS 365.
• Maintain proactive service delivery and manage a busy workload.
• Communicate clearly with clients throughout the service delivery lifecycle.
• Assist with penetration testing activities and intelligence gathering.
• Support business growth and service development.

The Role

Day-to-day At Ekco

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with IT experience to join our team as a Cyber Security Consultant. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional seeking to take their first step to into building a career in cyber security or a current cyber security professional looking to develop their skillset.

The successful candidate will be part of a small and ambitious team, which provides a great platform to grow and develop. Full training and mentorship will be provided and the successful candidate will be supported to gain a range of cyber security certifications.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As a Cyber Security Consultant, you will help organisations to improve their security posture. You will be key to helping organisations achieve Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certifications and will also have the opportunity to help drive the development of the business and its core service offerings.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Delivering Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus assessments for new and existing clients
• Conducting vulnerability assessments, workstation/server security build reviews and MS 365 security reviews.
• Maintaining a proactive approach to service delivery and effectively managing a busy workload
• Providing clear communication to clients throughout the end-to-end service delivery process
• Assisting with penetration testing activities such as open-source intelligence gathering
• Supporting the growth and development of the business

What we’re looking for:

Essential

• 3 years or more of general IT or cyber security experience
• Real passion for cyber security and the enthusiasm to learn more
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good understanding of networking, including how the OSI model works
• Proficiency with modern Microsoft Windows operating systems

Desirable

• Experience conducting vulnerability scanning or using Nessus/Qualys
• Experience delivering Cyber Essentials/Cyber Essentials Plus assessments
• Experience with ISO 27001 or IASME Cyber Assurance
• Certifications such as OSCP, CompTIA Security+/Network+, CREST, CISM
• Linux and Windows command line experience
