Job Summary

Are you a Cyber security professional with a strong consultancy background, looking for a challenging and rewarding role supporting secure technology delivery in the UK Public Sector?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high–performing team delivering strategic cyber security leadership across complex ICT programmes. You will play a key role in shaping secure–by–design solutions, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with MOD assurance frameworks. The role requires a confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders and guide delivery teams in high–assurance environments.

Job Description

As a Managing Security Consultant, you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of Security Management Plans across ICT programmes
  • Provide strategic consultancy input into cyber security delivery and competitive tenders
  • Define and document cyber security approaches aligned to customer and MOD requirements
  • Manage security risk and assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Design and advise on mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Software Engineering, DevSecOps, Infrastructure and Agile Delivery
  • Support the integration of emerging technologies into secure environments
  • Ensure compliance with MOD policies and contribute to evidence sets for formal assurance

Person Specification

To be successful with your application, you ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • You have extensive consultancy experience in cyber security, with a proven ability to shape delivery strategy and influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience in cyber security roles within delivery, assurance.
  • Familiarity with MOD policies including JSP 440, JSP 453/604, JSP 892
  • You have a strong understanding of secure ICT delivery in Defence environments
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce high–quality reports and present complex technical concepts clearly

In addition to the responsibilities above, the following desirable criteria will be considered:

  • Knowledge of Secure–by–Design methodologies
  • Understanding of Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD in secure environments
