Cyber Security Awareness and Communications Consultant

Salary: From £31,200 per annum DOE

Location : Hybrid, flexible working

Contract type: Permanent

Shift pattern: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week

As the Cyber Security Awareness and Communications Consultant, you’ll play a key role in contributing to a long-term shift in security behaviours and culture by focusing on areas of human risk. You’ll deliver simulated phishing campaigns, and security communications and awareness materials across a range of subjects. Using different channels, you will ensure delivery is consistent, effective, and meaningful to Bupa’s broad spectrum of populations. You’ll help drive Bupa’s commitment to protecting customer data and maintaining trust by fostering a culture of security awareness.

How you’ll help us make health happen:

  • Lead the delivery of simulated phishing campaigns, and analyse results to inform training needs.
  • Support wider information security communication and awareness campaigns to equip our people with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours to protect customer and corporate data.
  • Build effective partnerships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery is well coordinated, and our people have the time and bandwidth to absorb the information they need.
  • Drive continuous improvement of information security communications and awareness via feedback and in response to changing requirements and risks.
  • Understand the varying needs of the BGIUK market unit and design appropriate communications and activities for each audience.
  • Use data and metrics to identify areas of human risk and evaluate the effectiveness of our approach.
Key Skills / Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to translate technical information for a non-technical audience.
  • 1 year experience of communication or security background
  • Experience in delivering creative and engaging multi-channel communication and awareness activity.
  • Great relationship and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner with people to achieve outcomes and influence appropriately.
  • An awareness of information security threats and trends as well as the role that human behaviour plays in creating risks.
  • Understanding of data protection principles and the regulatory environment within which we operate.
  • Ability to use metrics and data to monitor the effectiveness and impact of our programme, track behaviour change, and continuously improve our approach.
