Job summary

QA Limited in the North East is offering an apprentice position within the IT Security Team at our Head Office. You will support senior analysts, handle tickets, and liaise with departments across sites, gaining hands-on experience in security operations.

Working 37.5 hours per week, this apprenticeship provides training, real responsibilities, and a pathway to permanent employment after completion, with a strong track record of progression within QA.

• Good computer literacy and interest in IT & cyber security.

Responsibilities

• Assist in investigating security alerts and incidents under senior guidance.
• Analyse and remediate security issues following documented procedures.
• Support rollout of new security tools, configurations and controls.
• Complete routine security audits and checks with proper documentation.
• Test and evaluate new security technologies as part of continual improvement.
• Produce clear procedural documentation and reports.
• Assist support in remediation of tickets and escalated issues.
• Explain troubleshooting steps to employees face-to-face, by phone, or via remote access.
• Diagnose and resolve system, network, hardware, and software issues.
