• Salary: £24,367 - £28,976 (depending on experience)
• Contract: Fixed Term 18-24 months (depending on apprenticeship level)
• Location: Gravesend
• Working pattern: Monday – Friday, 35 hours/week

Role Overview

The Port of London Authority is expanding its cyber security team to protect critical systems supporting our operations and traffic management on the River Thames. We seek an ambitious cyber security apprentice to support projects modernising our IT and OT systems, assist with compliance initiatives, and contribute to security improvements. We support ongoing professional development, including industry-recognised certifications.

Candidate Profile

You should have:

• A passion for IT and some knowledge of cyber security concepts.
• Critical thinking skills and a proactive attitude towards improvement.

Criteria

• For apprenticeships at level 3 and above, English and Maths at level 2 are required before End Point Assessment.
• Self-motivated with problem-solving and time management skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.

Desirable Skills

• Understanding of cybersecurity principles like CIA, risk management, vulnerabilities, controls.
• Basic networking knowledge, including authentication and authorization.
• Awareness of attack tactics and techniques.
