Your role as an apprentice

During your apprenticeship, you will work across various areas, such as:

• Building secure systems and networks
• Installing and configuring operating systems, firewalls, and applications
• Deploying secure Cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
• Using DevOps for secure software development
• Data analytics with Machine Learning and AI
• Detecting and remediating cyberattacks
• Supporting STEM activities and outreach

Your work will support critical business areas in Leonardo, UK government, and private sector clients, providing valuable learning opportunities and qualifications for your future career. You will work in world-class facilities and may travel to other sites.

Pathways and progression

You will be selected based on your academic and vocational progress to specialize in areas such as Security Engineering or Security Event Analytics. There may be further academic and vocational opportunities based on your talents and business needs, with a commitment to completing all academic modules and assignments.

Minimum academic qualifications

5 GCSEs (grades 4-9 or A*-C), including English, Maths, and IT or equivalents. Mandatory subjects: English Language, Maths, Science, plus two additional subjects.

Salary

The starting salary for this role is £20,000.
