Key Responsibilities

As a Security Engineer, you will build and manage services that detect and mitigate cybersecurity threats across Amazon’s infrastructure. You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and security teams to develop innovative security solutions that protect AWS customers and maintain trust.

You will work within a team of industry-leading security experts managing security programs related to personnel security, physical and logical accreditation, education, awareness, assurance, and cybersecurity.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
  • Experience working in a Security Operations Centre (SOC) with security investigations, penetration testing, or incident response.
  • Understanding of security threats, experience defending against cyber-attacks, and using big data analytics and orchestration.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Go, TypeScript, Python, or Rust, including security code review.
  • Knowledge of the Mitre ATT&CK framework and telemetry data analysis (e.g., logs, process lists, NetFlow).
  • Awareness of current cybersecurity threats, actors, and techniques.
  • Experience with data science, big data analytics, and streaming technologies like Kafka, Spark Streaming, or Kinesis.
