Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Cyber Security Analyst, to become part of the Radius Cyber Security Team, working in a dynamic and challenging environment. The role will report to the Head of Cyber and will be located at our Emperor Court office in Crewe.

This role is crucial to strengthening the organisation's cyber resilience. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a key role in protecting systems, networks, and data against cyber threats. You will participate in threat detection and incident response efforts, support the development of security policies and controls, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance and security best practice across the business.

You will also assist with maintaining and improving the company's accredited Information Security Management System (ISMS), with a particular focus on ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus requirements. In addition, you will work collaboratively with the wider Cyber Security team to define and mature Security Operations Centre (SOC) processes, ensuring the effective day–to–day operations of security control.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to a high–performing Cyber Team in a fast–paced and evolving environment.

Your responsibilities day to day will be

  • Work closely with other IT teams to evaluate and implement new technologies in order to evolve and strengthen the group's cyber security posture, both with internal and customer facing platforms.
  • Proactively identify cyber security deficiencies and opportunities.
  • Contribute to the design and build of cloud–based infrastructure and architecture ensuring optimisation from a cyber security point of view.
  • Contribute to the design and build of customer facing platforms and applications, working closely with software development teams to ensure cyber security best practice is considered throughout the entire SDLC.
  • Create and maintain documentation around the use of cyber security technology in the organisation.
  • Carry out threat detection and incident response.
  • Carry out vulnerability management and remediation.
  • Collaborate as needed with third–party security vendors for expert advice and issue resolution.
  • Carry out threat intel research and recommend security improvements.

What do we expect of you?

  • Good knowledge of cyber security with a strong technical background.
  • Good understanding of application security along with experience of working alongside software development teams, supporting and advising on best practice to maintain security.
  • Experience of endpoint detection and response (EDR) technologies and network detection and response (NDR) technologies.
  • Knowledge of Information Security standards including Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO27001.
  • Good understanding of Linux and database technologies such as Ubuntu, Apache, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Nginx, Mercurial and Git.
  • Good understanding of cyber security practices in relation to cloud hosting, preferably with experience of AWS.
  • Good understanding of open–source risk management using enterprise management tools.
  • An understanding of Service Management disciplines, ideally using the ITIL framework.
  • Ability to keep up to date with technology trends and to understand key technical drivers in the industry.
  • Good understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK and NIST Cybersecurity frameworks.
