Job summary

ISTARI is seeking an Insights Officer to develop and execute thought leadership that positions ISTARI as a trusted strategic advisor to senior business leaders and government stakeholders. You will synthesise cyber risk trends, geopolitical developments, and resilience challenges into compelling narratives for client strategy and advisory outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field (business strategy, political science/international relations, cybersecurity, public policy, economics)
• 3–5 years of professional experience in research, strategy, consulting, policy analysis, or related advisory role
• Demonstrated experience developing and publishing thought leadership (reports, articles, white papers)
• Strong ability to analyse trends, synthesise complex information, and communicate strategic insights to senior audiences
• Proven ability to work at pace, prioritise, and deliver high-quality output in fast-moving environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive and board-level audiences

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse emerging cyber threats, geopolitical developments, regulatory changes, and organisational trends to identify patterns affecting client resilience
• Synthesize information from research, policy, market data, and client conversations to spot strategic issues
• Distill complex research into clear, concise strategic narratives for C-suite, board, government, and investors
• Translate technical and geopolitical complexity into business-relevant insights to inform decision-making
• Author and contribute to research reports, white papers, opinion pieces, and strategic commentary
• Collaborate with advisory teams to embed insights into client engagements and develop strategic recommendations
• Coordinate with communications and marketing to amplify thought leadership across channels and events
• Maintain a regular cadence of published output (articles, research, analysis, commentary)
• Translate insights into diverse formats (web content, webinars, podcasts, social media) in collaboration with Marketing
• Partner with educators to align thought leadership with ISTARI's executive programs
• Engage with the ISTARI Collective ecosystem to leverage partner expertise and insights
• Work with government relations and public affairs on policy-relevant research
